Mephisto's Crossingby OlyuziComment: Thank you for sharing this image with me on the 'mist' thread. I really love the photo. The title fits well and tells a meaningful story to the image. (Going to see if I can find anything about "Mephisto" now!) |

Mint Julepby OlyuziComment: Thanks for sharing your photo with me on the 'mist' thread on DPC. I like the scene you've captured and note that it was your submission for the 'Proportion' challenge. Very well done on getting 22nd place! It's a lovely scene. |

Beausoleil Island Sunriseby DarkRiderComment: As promised - a comment (to cover BOTH the "sunrise on the island" images)..
I mentioned the dramatic use of colours on the other photos you'd posted on the 'mist' thread. That occurs again in these two photos. To me there appears to be a strong bend towards the use of blue and yellow in these two photos. That, to me, creates a 'colour drama'! I can imagine photos like these being hung on plain white walls to create bright contrasts or to pin point (highlight) these colours when used during interior design. Also, both images have a painted quality about them - as if they'd been painted with bright watercolours. There is an almost 'surreal' effect to them, but in a bright and colourful way. I hope some of the feedback I've given helps and makes some sense? As I mentioned in my reply to your PM, I can only tell you what the images mean 'to me'. Thanks again for sharing them with me. |

Georgian Bay Mistby DarkRiderComment: Thank you for sharing this lovely photo on the 'mist' thread on DPC. I've never before seen mist portrayed like this. Its a vibrant photograph, made so by the incredible shades of blue.
. To me, I find that you have a way of being able to capture colour in your photos in a dramatic and appealing way. Good work. I also wish you the very best in your aspiration towards reaching the goals mentioned on your bio. |

Misty Sunrise - Georgian Bayby DarkRiderComment: Thank you for sharing this image on the 'mist' thread on DPC.
To me it seems to portrays a touch of drama - created by the contrast in colours between the top and bottom of the image. I like the way the grey mist in your photo blends into the clouds in the sky (altering the natural horizon). There are light areas within the cloud formations to one upper side of the image which appear to make a good balance with the contrasting tree on the opposing lower side. I've enjoyed having the opportunity to see and comment on your photo. Thanks again. |

Foggy Parkby GeneralEComment: Thank you for sharing this on the 'mist' thread on DPC. You seem to have captured a definite contrast between the mist softening the trees to the background and the band of grass to the fore. The trees further to the edge seem to provide a level betwixt the two - forming an almost 3-layer affect to the whole scene.
I hope you weren't driving at the same time as you took the photo!? :-) |

Morning Sunby BudComment: Thanks for sharing this on the 'mist' thread on DPC. The sun in your photo is positively glowing and it colours the mist and the rest of the scene in a delightful way, creating an almost surreal quality to the whole image. |

Sea mist descending III.jpgby bpickardComment: This is an awesome photo. Probably because of the way those curving lines on the bridge (?) appear to come down from out of the mist above - aswell as giving the impression of leading into it! Thanks for including this on the 'mist' thread on DPC. |

Sea mist descendingby bpickardComment: Thank you for sharing this lovely photo with me on the 'mist' thread on DPC. There are some amazing contrasts of light and shade, shape and shadow in your photo - some of which appears to be created by the mist contrasting with the trees and some by sunlight shining between them. The lamp-posts appear to strengthen the angles contained within the photo. |

Foggy Lakeside Morningby BeagleboyComment: Thank you for sharing this lovely photo with me on the 'mist' thread on DPC. You must be very proud to know that it will be published in 2006 calendar and that it will benefit the Children's Trust Fund. I'm not in the least suprised that it was chosen - congratulations. Your image portrays a calm and gentle mood and has a very 3D quality to it where those patches of reeds/grasses grow through the water surface. |
