A good depiction of the challenge. I scored this quite low and this is why: the low resolution of this photo makes it quite grainy and that is distracting to the eye. Nothing is really in focus so nothing really stands out. I don't know if this is due to compression. The sepia tones aren't contrasted enough for me and I would have liked it better in B&W maybe. It's a shame because the subject was right on. Score: 4 Good job nonetheless! Good luck!

This has to be one of my favs. Everything comes together in this. It depicts the conflict quite brilliantly. If I had only one obnoxious thing to say is that I don't like the little line at the far right, but that's really streaching it. Score: 10 Great job and good luck!

I didn't have time to comment during the challenge. But I'm taking 2 minutes now to comment on this awesome image.

This was one of the two 10's I gave out on this challenge. It was a great idea and the execution was near perfect. I really think this should have placed higher than it did even if it was in the top 60.

A great shot and a winner as far as I'm concerned.

This was one of the two 10's I gave for this challenge. Although it made the top 50, I thought it would at least make it to the top 3.
I really love this photo. It was original and well excuted.

Ah ha! So this was it huh?
I gave you an 8. Awesome job on this on Matt. The only thing that prevented me from scoring you higher is it was a jean texture, and there was quite a bit of jeans in that challenge.

Love the idea, you are definitely getting into the "artsy" part of things. ;o)
Nice placement, nice DoF, colors are a bit hot, contrast is nice. It's all good except for the the jean part. Well for me anyways.

You should let us know how you made that shot.

I really enjoyed this challenge as it was my first challenge after 2 years of leave from dpc.
I'm not sure I'll be doing the fire challenge, since I'm in the middle of midterms right now.

I knew going in that it was too smooth for most people though.

Edit: Oh yes, to everyone who asked about the title, I knew this was too smooth going in. I could have come up with something that would have explained the photo, but I wanted it to stand on it's own.
