02:18 AM, Between Flightsby ergoComment: Having spent what feels like most of the last week stuck in various airports across the world, this picture has particular resonance for me! I imagine it's very much like Schipol at 4:30a.m. which is a ghost town with just a few passengers trying to find somewhere to lie down, cleaners mopping the floors and noisy travelators carrying invisible hordes. You've caught the mood well..the feeling of half-life and isolation. Well done. |

Yesnaby2.jpgby TallblokeComment: You did a much better job than me at capturing the beauty of the place... having said that your holiday doesn't seem to have involved gales and blizzards (mid-April). Who would holiday in Scotland???!! |

Vividby frumoazniculComment: Having read your opinions in the forums, is this a sly dig at a certain photographic style prominent at DPC or an attempt to stamp your own vision on a rather hackneyed, yet iconic, image at DPC? The distinction is subtle but comes down to your intention. I think it is the latter: I get the sense that you wished to go down an organic route rather than plastic-perfect. There is a transition from left to right from wood to linen to flesh which works well in terms of texture and colouration. I guess the title hints at this 'living' approach. Ben |
