This is a really lovely image... the pixels and noise are a bit distracting though. One thing I do find with digital cameras is you have to watch your ISO settings. Try to set it at the lowest (50 or 100) and this pixel problem will probably go away. I really like the colours in this.

I really like this - it's very thought provoking and you've composed it very well. I almost wish the highlights were a little lighter though - maybe with some extra light. It really suits black and white. well done.

This is stunning. I keep coming back to it because teh flower is so powerful against the tree - the perspective is very unique. Beautiful highlights and shadows - just like an adams! 10

This is an excellent composition. THe only thing you may want to try to do is have very black blacks. Most of Ansel's work had very light lights and very black blacks at least in one place in the photo. By under-exposing by around -3 or -7 of an F stop, you may achieve this in the darkness of the trees in the forefront.

I really like the shadows and highlights you captured. However, there doens't appear to be any point in the image that has a strong focus. Also, the extra negative space is distracting because it isn't large enough. I find (and this is just a rule of thumb) that you should either have your subject take the whole frame, or allow your negative and positive space to take up thirds on the page. The negative space should take up at least 1/3 of the space. Sometimes it can take up 2/3 if it really enhances the subject. Here, it takes up 1/8 of the space or so.

As a Canadian (with a friend in the navy), I can totally appreciate this. I hope other people find it as funny as me. Good job.
