with some more contrasty toning, I'd sure like to see this one again

This has a very narrow range of tones, mostly gray. There are not real dark areas. The sky does have high lights but much of these are blown out.

Wonderful image, but the treatment is just not Adams-like. What really seems out of place is the lack of contrast in the land areas - the range there is quite restricted, and i would have selected it and pushed the contrast quite a bit. Also the over-exposure of the sky areas is just too much to my eye (some would be acceptable, to give that sense of brightness, but i just can't see this range as being typicla of AA.

I assume you are relatively new to this site. You just discovered how to make frames and you love it. Go easy on it. It can spoil the photo. Your took this photo right into the sun, which is not easy to do and if you don`t get it perfect when taking the picture, it will be difficult the rectify on the computer. Look for some foreground and make it visible. The picture probbably shows your home town, but to me it fails to make an impact. What is the main feature in there. Think, what do you want to show. What should I feel when I see your picture. Keep going.

I like the view, but the foreground does not look contrasty enough to me and I feel that the sky could do with being darker.

Seems grainy - unlike AA.

not enough tonal range / might be more interesting in color

A bit low contrast, IMO.

I love this picture. The detail of the town is intriguing, and would have liked to see it a bit brighter.

Needs more dynamic range, but a beautiful area

This is an excellent composition. THe only thing you may want to try to do is have very black blacks. Most of Ansel's work had very light lights and very black blacks at least in one place in the photo. By under-exposing by around -3 or -7 of an F stop, you may achieve this in the darkness of the trees in the forefront.

Incredible view! Probably needs to be in color to be fully appreciated! (I'd love to see a color version!)

This is a beautiful subject for this challenge. I think it could use more contrast, especially on the darker end, but it's still a nice shot as-is.
