I love the detail in the oof bg/bokeh, it seems to work relly well despite making it busy. The dof is just right to isolate the flowers.

Too early for the challenge? Aww, hard luck. This is a really great shot, with the skyline and bridge giving the fireworks context. Composition is great, the only thing I might change is use curves/levels to darken the skies a tad, just to make them a deeper black.

I really like your series of bird shots. This one stands out because of the colours, and how the tail yellow echoes the yellow of the b/g. I'm not sure if you used NI , but theres something not entirely sharp about the bird. I think your later bird shots are better from focus/dof etc, but this works really well compositionally with the colours

i think this would benefit from less foreground, as it takes the attention away from the great sky. Also, a wider/offcentred composition would also have helped this

I think this would be great if the shadow was all visible on clear wall.

I'm not sure what I think about this one. I think that if I can across it in the challenge I wouldn't have voted it terribly well, but looking at it now I'm beginning to like it a lot more.

The high contrast does play a role I believe, even if it put me off to start with - not sure how to describe it but it does gice a kind of lost, desolate, not-sure-whats-going-on-with-your-life feel to it, which I think is what you were aiming for

I still think the processing went a bit too far though, but it certainly made me think
