Still Usableby peeceeComment: as far as a still life goes, this doesn't get any kind of a reaction out of me, its more like a photo of something inanimate. the colors are all fairly dull, which could have something to do with it. maybe black and white owuld have helped this out a little? i think i owuld have prefered a higher angle as well. |

First bloomby openmindComment: a tad overexposed on the top petals, could be a little better focused, sharper, and the date in the bottom right corner isn't helping much. |

Red Beansby guobinComment: very nice composition and great color. the lighting isn't working for me though. its overexposed on one side and dulled by shadow on the other. i wish it was a tad sharper, too. still, a nice shot. i like the chaos of the arrangement. |

Mercury Risingby catzilla23Comment: if this were much much closer on the statue it might have worked as a still life, but as it is right now it doesn't do it. also, there appears to be a fair ammount of digital noise/pixelation happening in the sky. |

LOL"still life"by Dim7Comment: i'm afriad this isn't a still life. if it weren't such a nice shot i'd have to give it a 1, but i'm giving it a 2 - not much better, but if it doesn;t fit the challenge then it can't really be considered... |

Pleasure ...by smr78Comment: interesting use of negative space. i'm on the fence about the sepia tone here. part of me thinks it works, part of me thinks it only serves to dull this image. maybe a white backround to further accent the sensuality of the subject? |

Off To Auctionby johnnymorettiComment: nice use of negative space - i like the angle of the subject and the eay the strap comes back into frame to brake up the space in the bottom left corner. however, the subject doesn't really get any kind of response from me. i think that is the difference between a still life and a nice picture of an inanimate object. but well done all the same. it get a 6 from me - would have been higher if i had an emotional response from it. |

Oriental Dolls on Black Velvetby inspzilComment: i think there is a bit too much negative space here. interesting choice of subject. i don't know if the all black backround is helping entirely either. the closer and longer i look, the more i am able to barely make out that there are folds in the velvet cloth they are standing on. until i saw this, which is not really apparant, it looked as though these dolls were just floating. i gave it a 7 |

Onion Ringsby SMW409Comment: cute, and a nice composition, but the red pins kind of ruin it. |
