Just a fantastic shot. I hope this does very well. Posing myself as the guidebook edirtor, here is what I would ask you to do before we went the print. The hard white reflections on the front of the house and the outbuilding should be toned down to match the reflection from the lighthouse. The propane tank (or car), to the left of the outbuilding should be removed. The white dot in the foreground, possibly a sheep, should be removed, as well as the log floating in the calm water above it. There are some distracting white dots on the downhill side of the white outbuilding, three that look like reflections from a road or path that should be blended into the hillside, and one on the wall of building at waters edge. Below the main house, amost to the waters edge there is a long straight something, mabe a pipeline or fence that could be removed by cloning in hillside. I would also ask that you brighten the light reflections in the snowcaps. I'm cheering for a medal for you here. 9

What a great shot. Speaking strictly as the guide book editor, I would request the following post processing. Clone the little flags (or whatever they are) off the top of all the masts. Where a mast protrudes into the skyline, and it can't really be linked to what boat it is from, remove it. Where a mast cuts a major building in the horizon in half, remove it. There. Now you can be on the cover! Nice, nice work. Good luck!! 9

My choice for best of show. While it's difficult to critique truly wonderful photos, here goes. There are four things to clone out. Everything about this image is soft and mysterious. The rock at the far point, where the water meets the land catches my eye. Like wise the same with a tube or a person positioned to the far left of the dock, as well as the two rocks or supports that interupt the curve on the underside arch of the dock. The device on top of the tallest bridge support looks very modern and out of flavor for the rest of the image. I would remove that also. Finally, I would love to see this in sepia. An absolutly great, great shot. Good luch!! 10

I put this shot side by side with the blue ribbon and spent a while deciding which was the best. From me, you got the 10, the blue ribbon got the 9. Sorry that it didn't work out in our favor. This shot goes to my favorites.
