I can see what you wanted to achieve with this but something is putting me off the image as a whole, I think it's going to be something silly like the scratches, I know it sounds picky but when I sit back and look at the image my eye keeps getting drawn to them, sorry.

This is a good image, it falls into the debate on the site about "is it texture or is it structure and form?" Personally I think this is all about form and structure rather than texture which to me is the way something feels. In your image I don't know which bit I am supposed to be feeling and although I know from experience what some of these items feel like the picture doesn't tell me.

This is very difficult to do well, the macro usually means that only a small part of the image is focus, fortunately you (unlike others) have managed to get the right bit in focus so well done.
