An absolutely beautiful serene photo. I love how the bokeh creates a really nice sense of the environment while keeping the focus on the deer.
That being said, I think this image is hurt a bit by its centralized composition.

Great image Steve! This was actually my favorite of the challenge and my only 10. I thought for sure it would ribbon.
Alas it was not to be, but what a strong entry anyways. You should check out the photographer "Jimmy Chin". This image reminds me a lot of his work.

This is a lovely image that I would have given at least a 7 in a free study, but completely and utterly does not meet the challenge for me. Did you accidentally submit it into the wrong challenge? Lighting and subject matter remind me of the work of tanguera. No vote

Great focus on those eyes. I think some more photoshop (yes even within the Basic ruleset) would have really brought this picture out a bit more. As it is, it is nevertheless a very charming natural portrait.

I think you might have scored a bit higher with this one. The leading and disappearing lines of the train tracks give this photo a lot more depth.

This is my favorite image in this month's Free Study. The whole picture looks like a painting instead of a photograph and I think that is wonderful. The dog is backlit perfectly and I love the texture in the water.
Very well done! I will be looking forward to the end of the challenge to see who took this beauty!
