In-Flight Snackby HarveyGComment: Well done on a good finish Harvey. Sadly you missed the ribbons again but you should be proud of your shot. You do love those BIF shots chasing their prey don't you :-) |

What Comes Around Goes Around by RianBotesComment: Let me quote you a snip from a PM I got from Rian:
"I have just dabbled a bit with the odd challenge..."
Dabbled? No Rian - It's more like taking first place and showing the rest of us how to take a super shots. Well done Meneer!
Nice to See Amanda right behind you in the top 3 as well! Go South Africa!! |

On Safari by kasabaComment: Well I think the 2 comments below hit the nail on the head of what you were trying to achieve. Sadly I think most voters here like to see crisp clean almost stock looking shots. This shot appeals to a different crowd that is in the minority here. You still got 7's 8's and a 10! |

Hunter and Huntedby HarveyGComment: Sorry I'm only getting to commenting on this now. I have wanted to write for a few days already. As herfotoman said - bloody marvelous! Hunter and hunted in focus on a shallow DOF plane is never easy let alone for a BIF shot. Its hard enough with any wildlife but I can appreciate the technical difficulties here - well done on a super image!
I also like the slight blur in the wings to show the speed at which the action is happening at. Freezing the scene totally wouldnt have the same effect of speed even if you couldnt increase the shutter speed due to ISO / Aperture limitations - I think you did very well! |
