I Miss You Alotby HalimComment: Nice photo (it looks like it belongs on a greeting card), but even with the title it seems to have little to do with the challenge topic. |

love uby fouadComment: This is a small, grainy, overexposed snapshot of someone who appears to be pledging allegiance to his country of choice. The picture does not contain a clear depiction of romance. The image appears to have been overexposed because the camera was metering on the black sweater; making sure that the camera is exposing for his face would have resulted in a better exposure. Removing the distracting item from behind his shoulder would have also improved the photographic merit of the photo. |

Dangerous romanceby anibal187Comment: Is this a rodent of some kind and a dead puffer fish? The image would have more impact if the creatures in question were more easily identifiable. |

Loveby denlinkbarmannComment: The guy looks too uncomfortable for this picture to have the impact that it should. The guy probably wouldn't have been so (photographically) over-exposed if the image had been taken from the other end of the couch. |

Amourby JPRComment: The brightly lit one-wheeled bicycle and one way sign draw my attention more than the couple in the background. Cropping to isolate your subject from distracting elements would have improved the image. It appears that you sharpened a little too much to make up for soft focus when the image was captured. In this case, emphasizing the soft look might have served you better. |

Le temps se tient toujours (Time stands still)by kama0529Comment: If this image had a human element (a pair of silhouettes in a gondola, for example) I don't doubt that it'd be on the front page after the voting period ends. As it stands now, it's a lovely, romantic landscape, but I doubt that the anthropomorphism will be enough for most voters. |

peekalovesbijouby alportlandComment: This is a very small snapshot. I could conceivably read affection, companionship, or possibly even love into the image, but definitely not romance. |

Table for twoby bluenovaComment: The table is slightly off of horizontal; this would be less distracting if the outer candle weren't leaning in to emphasize the imbalance. This is a nice, minimalistic image, but I think that it needs some final element to really communicate the concept of romance; a pair of wine glasses, a shadow against the wall, etc. As it stands now, the image seems to lack a human connection for me to empathize with. |
