Well, this did alot better than i thought! It was a last minute idea, it's a clock that was made for my dad's birthday by one of his friends and was taken with it still on the wall and with full flash (hence the harsh lighting and shadows that were mentioned).
I thought this fit the challenge title 'round' quite well, as it was both a clock and a record. I think if it was just a picture of a record as suggested it would've had less character and scored far less.

this is great! really good composition. Glad you haven't opted for a more obvious shot. a bit grainy in places but i know how difficult it can be.

i like the way its created the halo around the subject, i'm not sure i like the reflections on the water, they make it seem a bit too busy. Very good though!
