Thunderousby Joshua_Comment by acg83: The image is far to static to give a true impression of sound. It's the same with many other shots. |

Reflections of Fallby Joshua_Comment by Joshua_: Originally posted by bohemka: I don't know what blown highlights sldpixel is talking about. There are no blown highlights. And I don't know what the problem is with there not being enough color... just because you called it Fall?
I do agree the border is a bit weird though. Either go letterbox or equidistant all the way around (at least for voters); or better, no border at all, especially with a shot like this, which doesn't need it.
With a shot this good you want to go as big as possible, so scrap the border altogether. And a black border doesn't help the scene. Sorry to go on about the border. It's a great shot and should have done a hell of a lot better. |
Thank you for the feedback, Scott. I'm just getting into photography (bought my first DSLR 2 months ago) and I certainly appreciate all the critiques. I thought I had a decent shot here, but it seems to have been dismissed for certain reasons. Ultimately I made a poor decision with the title (hey I'm from Southern California, so this looks very much like fall to me), as well as the choice for a border. Again, these are learning curves for me and I'll definitely choose these things more carefully in the future. I'm disappointed with the low score, but I hope to do better in the future. Thank you for your defense of my shot! |

Reflections of Fallby Joshua_Comment by EL-ROI: The shot is very sharp and the exposure is spot on but Fall is just turning here... not too much color showing. The border is a little odd... |
