The Gardnerby pillikcamComment by jerowe: perfect example of a WONDERFULLY executed environmental portrait. there's nothing wrong with this image whatsoever. it looks like something off the cover of better homes and gardens. seriously, great job. 7 |

The Gardnerby pillikcamComment by hotpasta: the depth of field looks great and I like the pose and composition...and by the way 'Gardener' is the right spelling :) |

Point Rustonby pillikcamComment by seasaw: very crisp and nice colors - interesting shadow behind the boat name (haven't seen that on a boat before)... |

Draftingby pillikcamComment by pillikcam: Thanks for the great comments.
This is a self portrait. If you look at the photo closely you will see the leg of my homemade tripod extending from the frame. I built a contraption that attached to the forks and secured the camera five feet in front of me. I used the timer on the camera to give me enough time to jump on the bike and start peddling. My little FUJI E550 has a small video screen so the shot looked great in the field. I must have gotten some camera shake from the vibration off the bike. I didn't notice the soft focus until I got home and put it up on my bigger monitor. By then it was too late. I knew I would get crushed in the voting but I have always been more interested in the commentary. Still, I had a great time with this project.

Draftingby pillikcamComment by Yo_Spiff: Ok, what did you do to snap this from 12 inches, hold the camera behind your back and shoot blind? |
