i like the effect you are trying to create, the light really brings out the texture in the wood and i really like this aspect of the shot.
However, I do think this shot falls down technically, especially on how the light is captured. I would have much prefered to see a sharp flame rather than a blurred blob with the halo. I know your focus is on the foreground of the wood but I would also like to see the candle a little sharper as this is also a strong focal point of the image and of perhaps more interest than the wood itself.
So personally I like what you are trying to do but as it falls down technically I can only give this a 6.
