Soaring in Still Lifeby JediKaitiComment by Dr.Confuser: I gave this photo a 1 because it didn't seem to me to fulfill my expectation of a "still life," a classic form of artfully arranged objects. Call me narrow minded but that's the way I see it. |

Soaring in Still Lifeby JediKaitiComment by BeeCee: A still life generally brings together a number of elements arranged by the artist into an eyecatching grouping. Ignoring that and considering the photo, it's an interesting subject but could be made more striking by increasing contrast. I'd suggest cropping tighter left, both to remove the extraneous bush and to bring the subject out of center, giving more illusion of flight toward the edge of the frame. Maybe check out info on the rule of thirds. Hope this helps :) |

untitledby JediKaitiComment by HBunch: well..it's a photo of an engine that has some hot spots and some dark shadows, both of which hinder detail. i'm not seeing your interesting point of view. when I pictured 'interesting point of view' I thought about wow factor. I thought about looking at the shot, and saying 'wow...great point of view'. focus seems a bit soft too.probably a result of the poor lighting. just not my kind of shot. that's just a personal preference though. |

untitledby JediKaitiComment by johnny_justjohnny: i like. nice lighting, it looks like you used a flash, but there's something else going on, that gives those golden highlights. those are particularly nice. i wonder what it might've looked like without a flash, with a long exposure maybe. some of my favorite long exposure shots are medium-lit contours and shapes. |
