Another excellent photograph. Marvelous depth and dimension to this as well. As far as your attraction, you must be an eyes person, always a strong focal point in your photos.

One thing I'm wondering, in your portraits the subject often is centered in the frame. Is this by design, as the background usually balances out the composition? Or simply something you do subconsciously?

First off I have to say excellent photograph. As far as the hate/anger I'm not seeing it, probably just a case of not knowing the circumstances and not seeing this in the same context as you. He definitely does have a very piercing stare though, imaginably very uncomfortable in person.

This is perhaps the best of the series. Such faces speak realms. Lines and expressions come from years of feeling and reaction and immersion. This mans speaks loudly. Nice work again.

Very nice collection of images from your session. This is one of the most dynamic. Nothing like this in NYC. That's why I much prefer London, my old haunt. It's at least a million times more exciting than NYC.

I don't think this is strange at all - I really like these kinds of shots. You did a great job with this - would be an interesting entry for the Reflections challenge, too, by the way. Should you decide to enter it, just "hide" this in your portfolio and resize for challenge submission. :-) Note that I'm not saying it will score well - I have no feel for that sort of thing at all.
