The attempt at the out-of-focus fade to the detail was a good attempt, but it didn't quite work because the background is too grainy and ineffective.

This was shot in RAW and edited quite extensively in CS3. I brightened the fire and darkened a lot of the stuff in the lower right. And I had to do a fair amount to the central figure and the thing on the spit to make it stand out better. There was too big a crowd for me to use a tripod so I suppose it could be classified as a snapshot.

10. I don't like the border, and there is a little tiny spot at the extreme left edge that I'd have cloned out. However! I love love LOVE the colors, spooky mood... this is really an excellent shot and it definitely captures the essence of Halloween. Great job - one of my favorites for this challenge (my third favorite)!!

Those people have a committment to the theme for sure.

However this image seems more like a snapshot than a competitive entry for a challenge.

This was my first ever entry. I first submitted it too big and got the message to that effect. I reduced the size and resubmitted it too small but there isn't a message to tell me that. It was my silly error but I think there should be a "too small" message as well as a "too big" message for people like me.
