I feel like I have viewed a ton of bug shots lately but this has a great feel to it; a bronze and copper feel, a steampunk feel to it.I like it a whole lot for detail texture and theme.

This bird, and many like him, inhabit a trail near where I used to live. So many people hike the trail and walk their dogs there, the birds have become quite tame and will eat seeds right out of the hand. I bought a large bag of seed at a local pet store and I always have a small bag of it with my camera equipment.

This image was shot in winter when the birds are especially eager to take food they don't have to forage for.

I also find that the best shots, especially wildlife/insects/etc. come from spending a lot of time in one spot. Animals get used to you hanging around if you don't move too much or make a lot of noise. Patience is rewarded.
