Up Closeby alecnormanComment by Melethia: Greetings from the Critique Club!
Hi Alec,
Looking at your portfolio, you have a wonderful talent for capturing people - this is one such example. Excellent focus on his eyes - and a whole world seems to be reflected in them - and nice use of shallow DOF. My only suggestion would be to crop the post on the right. While keeping it in maintains your aspect ratio (and I tend to like to do that), taking it out removes an unneeded element from the photo.
As it is, this scored pretty well for a "Best of" challenge and was well appreciated by your commenters. |

Up Closeby alecnormanComment by vlado: A wonderful portrait. I love the colour and detail, but most of all the snot mark under the nose... I have a photo of one of my cousins at the snow with a similar effect and it's one of my all time favourite photos I've taken. Well done. |

Up Closeby alecnormanComment by citymars: Beautiful photo. I was a bit bothered at first by the white under his nose, then I realized the photo wouldn't be the same without it! Did you whiten the eyes? They almost seem too white, but I also believe that could be natural. Very human portrait and a top vote getter from me. |
