Walk on the Ocean Floorby KimInNBComment by KimInNB: Thanks for the comments everyone. I wish the lighting could have been better, but when working with the incredible tides here, it's all in the timing!! As it was, I came home with extremely muddy and wet shoes!!
If you'd like to see more pics from this "most visited tourist attraction" in New Brunswick, then go to my PBase site.
RE: text - I thought we were to take a photo that would make a good postcard, not make a good postcard... oops!!! |

That 70s Lampshade!!by KimInNBComment by Amiee: Very nice image. I like the colors against the black background. I also like the way that you can see the patterns in the lampshade very clearly and it adds a lot of interest to the image. |

Walk on the Ocean Floorby KimInNBComment by dsidwell: Lines and contrasts really make the eye move through and then around the photo! Light seems a bit harsh and "ordinary,", but composition is wonderful. |

That 70s Lampshade!!by KimInNBComment by inspzil: Not terribly compelling of a photo I'm afraid. Doesn't have a lot of visual impact for me. It is however pretty well taken and framed. Nice detail too |

That 70s Lampshade!!by KimInNBComment by K-Rob: AAAKKKK!!! I can't stand 70's furniture. But I'll look past it and score you based on the nice composition and DOF. |

Walk on the Ocean Floorby KimInNBComment by HBunch: This is a nice photo, but without some kind of knowledge of what it is exactly, or even WHERE it is, I don't think i'd buy it as a postcard. About the image though, it's a wonderful shot. The sky is great, and I like the angle and framing/cropping you chose. Especially how you have the foam in the bottom left corner. nice. ~Heather~ |

Harbour Viewsby KimInNBComment by blemt: Greetings from CC land!
I see a fellow A40 user! Excellent. My biggest problem with this image series isn't technical. It doesn't seem to tell a story. Especially for a landlubber like me who's not exposed to harbor life. It looks like you ended up shooting on a cloudy day and as a result did not get optimal lighting for some of these shots. That gives the image an overall dark, dreery feel. It's almost like you are too far away. You have a good close-up of the water, then you have some farther shots of buildings. It might be interesting to see what happens if you get closer to the buildings and shoot at a different angle. As an example, straight up on the lighthouse.
The lighthouse is really the strongest element of this image. To create a more effective multi-image shot, I'd reccomend building the story around the lighthouse. If they let you enter the building, shoot some images from inside looking out. Get closer to the objects that tell the story about life in a harbor.

Walk on the Ocean Floorby KimInNBComment by eloise: Very postcardy, and technically speaking a beautiful shot. The only thing that kept it at 9 and not 10 for me was a lack of a certain spung, that magic 'Wow!' spark. But I have to save 10s for *something*, right? :-> |
