Goodbye world.by GeocideComment by Gracious: Comments from Grayce for the Critique Club
This is a good composition. The strong diagonal forming from the paper and arm leads the eye right to the pills. From the other direction, the pill bottle does the same thing. Very good use of diagonals on both counts.
The exposure is very good, except for the glare of the flame. It's over-exposed, which is a pity, because the candle isn't even an important element to the picture. It COULD work but would need to be toned down.
This is an emotional theme and you did a good job of portraying that.
That little bright line up on top near the candle serves no purpose and is a distraction.
As others have mentioned, the pills definetly look like vitamins.
Overall this is an effective image, and fairly well done.
Best of luck in all your photographic endeavors.
Regards,
Grayce |

Another Eggheadby GeocideComment by e301: Good one. I think such an symetrical image demands that the main subject be centred though, and the lighting feels a bit fussy - but these are minor points. |

The Power and Problems Behind the Church.by GeocideComment by Sonifo: I'm not sure how to judge this for leading lines. If I look at the title I don't see any, but if I look at the picture and see it that the church is pointing to the heavens then my eyes are being lead to sky, but there isn't enough sky. |

Goodbye world.by GeocideComment by HBunch: the darkness work here. nicely. but the blaring light around the candle is somewhat distracting from the subject. I think that the focus is a bit soft, but In this situation, I think it works. because we are seeing this "from the eyes of the subject" the blurryness adds to the fact that this person may have taken just a few too many of those pills and is losing clear sight of everything. maybe it's just me thought. hehe. nice angle and framing/cropping. good luck in the challenge. |

Goodbye world.by GeocideComment by Malokata: I just don't see someone about to commit suicide pouring out their pills onto their desk first. Especially not vitamins.
Candlelight burns a bit too bright here., white line distracts. |
