All in the eyes.by GeocideComment by jmsetzler: Greetings from the Critique Club :)
Hi Genocide...
Good work with the exposure on this shot. The concept that you are trying to show here is working fairly well. The 'eyes' do seem to have emotions of their own when one really studies the image closely. The catch light in the eye works really well here since it is an odd shape. That seems to add to the depth and dimension of the eye.
Compositionally, I believe a different crop of this image would be stronger. If you cropped out the bottom third of the image, two possible improvements would happen. 1 - The 'blue' line in the lower left would be removed... This does add a nice touch of color to the photo, but it also could be considered a distraction from your 'eye'. 2 - The balance of the photo would be a little better. The void area underneath the eye in the photo seems to be a bit bland overall. Give that a shot and see what you think...
Keep up the good work :)

Metalworksby GeocideComment by casualguy: Can we say sterile.... Looks like it was left behind. A very clean and sterile looking shot. Decent composition. |

Metalworksby GeocideComment by mzanoni: Excellent! The narrow tonal range in this image really accents the textures and shapes. Good use of depth of focus. This is a very interesting image. |

Metalworks of Symmetryby GeocideComment by justine: Very neat shot..the light is wonderful. This is very 'stock' like...it's cool and would look good in _cold blue_ also. Great lens ya got there. |

Metalworksby GeocideComment by joebar: Cool photo.. What is the surface it's on top of? Think I would have liked it more if the business tip of the tweezer (the tip) was in sharp focus, rather than the grip. |

Metalworksby GeocideComment by inspzil: Very shallow DOF. Can't make up my mind if I like it that way or not. The very center of the photo is focused. I think it'd have been more successful with a bigger f number and a greater DOF so at least the point of the instrument were focused. I like the framing however I think the subject is a little overexposed. |

Metalworksby GeocideComment by rainbow: Although the idea is very simple, I think the unusual background has made it a powerful shot with the reflection showing on the tweesers. The depth of field adds interest and I like the way you have used the lighting. Well done. |
