Comment by Mephisto:
not a really nice perspective imo,
but the perspective itself is very cool with the wall on the left and the pillars on the right with thems shadows...that works well

This portrait has wonderful colors, and the eyes definitely make the shot. The splash of color on the very bottom (apparently part of the scarf) is distracting. I would have cropped it out.

Overall, I like this. I feel it could be even stronger with most of the furthest right pillar cropped out. With the opening centered, the right side doesn't have enough visual weight to balance the mass on the left. 6

Composition:I just love the use of negitive space and the depth you gave this with the angle of your shot.

Lighting: the chosen/available lighting is a bit harsh for such a reflective shiny surface and I believe it to be the downfall of a wonderful image. My suggestion:A white sheet could be hung from the celing to act as a diffuser or you could have had the light behind your subject and used a reflector(or a few pieces of aluminum foil with the non shiny side used as the reflector) to bounce the light onto your subject. this would have made the light less harsh and would have minimized the hot spot on the wood and the strong reflection on the metal piece at the end of the strings. this would have also elimated the reflection of the surrounding room.

Focus: excellent focus and placed perfect for this subject and wonderful use of the DOF!

Color: your Reds are perfect as they show your grain detail wonderfully! the yellows and magenta's seem to have been a bit over saturated. great job on geting the true blacks and the burning.

If you have any questions please feel free to PM me and I will try to help in any way i can. have a great day and i look forward to seeing more of your work. :o) ~~Cher~~

Compared to other veiled photos in this challenge, the lighting it a bit harsh for my liking. I like the veil colors and the eyes.

very beautiful picture. though i find the lights in her eyes somewhat distracting. it would seem more mysterious and... i don't know the word... if the eyes were just - natural eyes. brown and black. yeah... i don't really know how to say what i'm thinking. but good job!!!!
