Dark Side of Mr. Humptyby NeethComment by OneSweetSin: Greetings from the Critique Club
I'm going to start off by saying did you do sepia tone here? I don't believe you did looking at the glass stone but looking at the egg and background I would guess it is sepia toned. So as mentioned by someone else you need to adjust your white balance to correct this.
Your lighting technique adds interest and character to your egg...works with your title. I like the detail you have both on the stones and the egg. I really think you have a good image here but this just wasn't the right challenge for it.

Dark Side of Mr. Humptyby NeethComment by Elaine: Your background looks more yellow than white, and I think the lighting was too strong on the left side of the egg. IMO the composition would have been better if the egg was not centered. |

Band of Seagullsby NeethComment by loseme: *Critique Club*
Personally I believe that animals can be used as examples of personifications, but that was just my take on the challenge and obviously that was not the general idea of DPC voters. This is a cool photo and great idea. It reminds me of people standing around waiting for a table on a Friday night with those intense faces or even better those shopper in front of the store the day after Christmas. I really like the composition and coloring of this shot. I love that the birds are not overfilled with backgrounds or sky. The sand is prefect color and I don't see any trash, which in itself is awesome. I know it probably took the image this way on purpose, but I wish the foremost bird was a little more in focus. I think if people had been more accepting of the animals being able to personify you would have scored higher. Good job! |

I dont need a mirror!by NeethComment by liebe: This photo is lovely. I love the smooth motion and feel of it. Sugestions: A lot wider of a crop. Perhaps (if possible) use rule of thirs and put the duck at the bottom left corner.
Wonderful job overall! |
