Yellow Crownby bhowieComment by MacDonald: I truly love and appreciate abstract....... this photo has many interesting qualities but lacks adherence to the challenge (IMO) as yellow does not seem to be the focus |

Yellow Crownby bhowieComment by FotoMunki: Cool image! Nice focus and selection on the "crown". Unfortunately, it takes a second to figure out what the hell it is. :-) I think the caterpillar should have been a little light (IMO). Nice image though! |

Mantus lets it all hang outby bhowieComment by Tej: Greetings from the Critique Club!
Aesthetic:Nice photo. Almost has an abstract feel to it. Slightly lacks on composition.
Technical:Too shallow a DOF. Even the head is not fully in focus. Not that shallow DOF was not required for this one, but there is no single part of body which is fully in focus which does not let me focus my eyes on one point.
Challenge:Offcourse anything would fit into this challenge theme ...so no comments :)
Conclusion: I feel that only if the head was in focus and you would have followed rule-of-thirds, this might have scored much higher. And yes- this one lacks on uniqueness as there are lots of similar shots available on net and over DPC.
I wonder how were you able to get such shallow DOF with f5.0 ...
