 It was my wedding anniversary this week, and I thought that seeing the purchase of flowers for my wife was such a (shamefully) rare event I would immortalise them with a photo.

The flowers were already starting to droop, which aided this composition. I liked the way the flower seems to shout out...

I know most people are pretty tired of flowers, but I don't really care if this flops with the voters - just as long as my wife is happy... She wants to frame the pictures - probably as a subtle reminder to her husband. Or perhaps a memorial to a fleeting glimpse of marital romance! Oh... we also went to a classy resturant (I'm not a total failure...)

Setup:
Shot in my living room. Camera on tripod, black board behind flowers. Filtered daylight from behind. Inside flower lit by torch during exposure.

Levels layer - clipping black approx 2%

Great perspective/angle. Nice lighting and coloring also. Might have more impact with more negative space or not so centrally located.
