This is by far my favorite of this series. I like it because of the foreground. It seems to have more equal weight that way. Love the deep rich sky color. Great backdrop for all the warm autumn tones. Nicely done.

Is that the Hemlock Lake in Indiana County? If so, that's about 10 miles from my parents' house...

I was looking at your shots and thinking, geez, these look just like my shots! Guess all trees in PA wind up looking the same :)

I agree with notonline. The lines of the dark branches do lead the viewer further into the shot - well done. I also love the colors, and again, I agree with notonline that this screams calendar shot to me. Where were you that it's now Autumn? Granted it's late August, but you must be pretty far north to be getting color already. It's a very warm, embracing, natural, and comforting shot. Nice job.

Hmmm....well i dont like this as much as I like your moon shot...It feels like its just a shot of trees and not of anything else. It sure is pretty...well I dont know what you were thinking/ your idea behind this shot...but to me, its just a tree shot...and doesnt kindle my imagination
I'm not trying to offend you. I just think that a photo starts appealing to people and gets that "wow" factor when it tries to more than just document...Oh, well, cliched words....let me try to explain better. If you were trying to show the autumn colours, something more close, or more generic (e.g. a leaf almost falling down, a bright green tree alongside one which is shedding etc might portray that better) I hope you get my point. Do keep trying.

I do like this shot and think it would make for an excellent calender shot. I find the darkness of the branch draws your eyes into the photo. well done.

I agree, I like the sky, and the plants in the foreground. However, if you could lighten the trees a little to give it a bit more definition, maybe that could make it better. Just my 2 cents

It's been a long time since I've been here, but I will try to give you my own personal opinion. The branch has a soft feeling to me. I can better focus on the landscape by covering that branch from my site. So, if you could crop the photo and remove that branch, the eyes of the view can just focus on the greenery background with the nice cascading water. Hope that helps....
