Waiting for waterby NusbaumComment by Nusbaum: Originally posted by tfaust: Hate it when that happens! I might like to see this photo color... |
Here is the color version of this shot.
I thought the brilliant pink sunset became the subject rather than the "opps" that was supposed to be the subject of the shot. |

Freedom is never freeby NusbaumComment by TooCool: I'm making an assumption here that because of the monuments subject that the monument is black. Given this....I think that this woulda been more powerful left in color because hues and colors in the reflections would make it 'blacker'. Focus is a little soft. The title I think in this case detracts from the image. The first thing I thougt while it was loading was 'duh' because the title is right there in the image. I don't usualy detract for title but in this case if it was title"____________________ memorial" I woulda had more feeling for it...
Hope it helps....

No buttonsby NusbaumComment by emorgan49: You know, twice in the past week, kids I know have gotten seriously stranded because they don't know how to use a pay phone. I love this image (maybe I'd like it better if it were straighter?). 7 |

Waiting for waterby NusbaumComment by Nusbaum: It's difficult watching the comments about not seeing the "opps" and not being able to respond. I guess this is one of those situations where I should have looked at the photo more objectively and realized the details I saw while taking the picture would not be obvious to others.
The boat in the picture is sitting on it's side in about 3 inches of water. The "opps" is the fact that the owner anchored in shallow water at a time when the river level was dropping rapidly. Once the boat was stranded, the only option was to wait for the water level to rise again. Message edited by author 2003-09-14 15:50:39. |
