I don't know what standards the commentor is using. Maybe the standard of wanting to see the subject clearly, which is irrelevant to what you are doing. I think this is lovely and you should continue experimenting with light and form. Well done.

Not sure whether the legs add a lot to the image. I would try a tighter crop, maybe just below the waist. If you want to show the full body then I suggest to reflect a bit more light on the right foot in the left of the image, just enough to show the shape.

I really like this image. There is so much to look at here but it doesn't distract from the face. You've managed, through lighting,focus, and processing to keep it strongly the focal point. His expression is wonderful, too.
I'm surprised it didn't score higher, and possibly one big reason is your sizing. We always like to see the largest possible size, to see all that great detail.
Nice work... I find this a very compelling image :)

For some time I imagined the photo to be ironically titled. I like the moody, grainy sense and the glowing bits from the light. I don't find the placement of the light in the photo to work well for me, and I kind of wish I could see a little less of the BG.
