Off Roadby bgartside47Comment by Neuferland: Greetings from the Critique Club!
This is an interesting image in that it makes my turn my head and try to figure out what is all there. The focus seems off just a bit, almost as if there was a slight camera shake, a sharper focus would help this image a great deal to me. The cutting off the tires on the left also hurts the image to me.
I do like the black and white use here. Color would have been very distracting. But the itmes hanging on the right are a bit distracting to the shot. Perhaps if you had removed the other objects and turned one of the bikes over to offer some contrast? I like the shot overall just needs a bit of tweaking to me.
Good Luck In Future Challenges!

Off Roadby bgartside47Comment by nroot: Welp, the bikes are certainly off road, no denying that. But the shot feels cluttered and a little hard to follow. Perhaps removing those tolls in the back wold have helping clean up the background. |

College Survival Kitby bgartside47Comment by Neuferland: PB&J, without a doubt the most well know together pair! This is a college student's main staple, along with mac and cheese. The shot is a bit bright and out of focus. Also, knowing several college students, they would never cut off the crusts, they are always hungry and would eat every single crumb! ;)
The knife is a bit of distraction because it's so clean with just the touch of peanut butter on the end, seems there should be peanut butter and jelly smeared on it from cutting the bread and the clean cuts on the bread also are a bit to clean, you know? A 5 to start, going to a 6 |

College Survival Kitby bgartside47Comment by Neil: Had the same idea myself (peanut b. and jelly at leat), but ddn't end up shooting it because I could not do it artistically. This meets the challenge well, but lacks a sense of "flare" or artistry. Personally, I was going to try smearing the peanut butter and jelly together on a glass plate in a nice swirly pattern and shoot it as a closeup. |
