A bit of a yes-and-no picture. The color of the bird blends to much with the leaves for my taste (i.e. 'no'). Once you know the bird is there however, your eye keeps getting drawn to it (i.e. 'yes')

Of all the bird shots I have seen so far, I like this "frame" the best. I would prefer the bird to be more in focus and perhaps a bit more "prominent".

Hello from the Critique Club!

Firstly, I like that you went with a bit of a different take than a lot of folks did, not only by doing a night scene, but also by doing one that is blurred.
I like the variety of colors of lights and especially the eerie bit of light on the railing.
One thing, however, is that I wish there was more of a direction/reason to the blur. What I mean by this is that it doesn't seem to be intensifying our sence of motion, or necessarily enhancing the feel of the photo. Otherwise, I feel like your choice of crop works well and is interesting.

A very smart image and yes, you can be proud of it. Much more difficult and sophisticated than simply framing a subject and moving the camera to put it in a corner. Sadly, I was also sure it was going to be DNMC-or-so for many. Congrats!

A frame in the frame with the main subject in the corner of the inner frame. Maybe a bit too clever for a high score. Otherwise a nice image which you can be proud off.
