Beauty of a Sphinxby KatspetkatComment by magnus: Love the back-lighting coming through the ears! I think the centered composition works well, without the vertical window post in the background would have been even better. But the reflection in the glass is very distracting, I would definitely have edited it out. |

Beauty of a Sphinxby KatspetkatComment by Thai: pity about the reflection accross the stomach area and I would have liked to have seen the face a bit lighter but good luck |

Beauty of a Sphinxby KatspetkatComment by hotpasta: it's nice to see the cat silhouetted, but it looks more like a bad exposure...had you changed your settings and perhaps moved to a better position (to erradicate the window, this migh have worked better...6 |

Sing me a song of a lad that is gone...by KatspetkatComment by loseme: *Critique Club*
"Sing me a song of a lad that is gone..." is a nice addition to Literary Adventure challenge. I personally had not seen this poem before, but I figured from the title it was of a young child. Not too bad of a placement, the upper 50% is always good.
I think you made an excellent choice with the black and white for this piece. I think using the tree to frame out the shot was a nice idea. On my screen the black looks a tad to dark. The glow on the horse is nice and I also like the include of the boat it gives more to the subject. This a very nice emotional piece, it grabs your attention with the deep contrast in the black and white. I like the white border it makes the image complete.
This was a really good piece, I look forward to your future entries. |

Sing me a song of a lad that is gone...by KatspetkatComment by CEJ: Well done...very emotive shot. Good composition. Black and white is perfect for this scene. A little dark along the top but still fairly well balanced. Coupled with your choice of title and comes together fairly strong. Nice job! |
