The image is noisy, heavily cropped, and needs a CCW rotation.

Beyond that the subject is going to be seen as mundane. For better, or for worse DPC loves eyecandy, flash and glitz, and hates off-center, poorly rotated, noisy stuff...

Good try, but this is going to get punished.. A rotation and heavy dose of Topaz De-Noise, along with a centered crop would have gone a long, long, long way for the score of this image.

I've seen these for sale on Woot.com a few times. Very cool looking fans. The photo seems a bit grainy and soft to me. I'm afraid it's just not having much visual impact for me.

Hmmm, I like what you were going for with the subject, I just don't think it worked super well. Some things to consider: Try to keep power lines out. Maybe get a little closer to the subject to show more details in the stalks.
