The Drakeby

I loved this shot right away, as I am a sucker for urban landscapes and long exposure roads with car lights. The challenge is easily met, that is not an issue. The rules were broad and the sky is blue, but more important is the nice blue reflection on the snow on the edged of the roof and the ground.
As I already said in my previous comment: Nice perspective.
Altought the title say's that The Drake is the main subject, the eye is drawn to the streets with traffic. I see an urban artery, a city alive.
You could say that the building at the right spoils it a bit and that it should be cropped out, but on the other hand it gives a glimp of live behind those windows. It still has some detail because of a good exposure.
The only dissapointment is that the red lights in the right lanes are overblown by all the white light from the uncoming traffic, but there is not much you can do about that.
*Background*
Nice sky with some clouds, horizon is visible because of the lights.
*Camera Work (Technical)*
Horizon looks straight enough. The building on the right distorts somwhat, I guess because of a wideangle lens setting, not much can be done about that from this position I think.
Exposure is good, there is detail in the shadow of the building at the right, the snow isn't blown out. Good depth of field. Sharpness ok.
*Digital Processing (technical)*
Looks good. I noticed that the file is only 100k. Try to save it at a higher quality, to keep sharpness and detail up. The limit is 150kb. It doesn't hurt the picture here, but keep it in mind.
*My opinion*
I like it!
And I really need to go to Chicago one day. I studied Chicago's urban history for America Studies at the Amsterdam University, there is so much architecture to photograph there. I'll add it to my favorites. ;-)
