Emily Behind The Blindsby JoaniePComment by Yo_Spiff: Very nice. Looks a touch flat, though. Not sure if that is intentional on your part or not. If not, some modest levels and contrast adjustments could give it some pop. Again, this may be an intentional effect, so feel welcome to whack me with a cluebat if I am wrong. |

Droopingby JoaniePComment by Ja-9: you have such a clear shot here...but you cut the petals off on the right hand side. IMO that would have completed the picture...it's ok to cut off part of the picture but keep one side whole...(only my opinion..) |

Can't Wait For Summer (my Fred Flintstone feet )by JoaniePComment by Nuzzer: Greetings from the Critique Club.
First impressions are of the bright colours contrasting with the white snow.
Technically this has a couple of issues. The composition puts the feet centre of the frame but in this case that doesn't aid the shot. Overall it could do with a bit more contrast. Given the setting (snow etc) you've exposed this well.
Artistically I get the idea. The POV is interesting and you've chosen some interesting jandals as the subject. Other than that though what we see is a largely uninteresting shot.
In summary this has potential but that "wow" that DPC needs is just not there.
Feel free to PM me if you have any queries.

75 Count Pittsburgh Tissues by JoaniePComment by sfalice: GREETINGS FROM THE CRITIQUE CLUB
Oh, sometimes I sigh a little at our voters. Yes, there are some technical issues, but still... It is a cute idea and your colors are excellent. It is not easy to get those whites white, and still have good definition, and you did it. The tissue box is well exposed and the subject does meet the Challenge. (Although it possibly would have been better to have the 'count' visible on the box, rather than depending on the title.)
When I look on my monitor(s) I do notice that your box is resting on a not-quite-as-black surface as the backdrop. Monitors are tricky, and with blacks, it's important to double check that everything is the color you want it to be. While I think you probably thought it was all going to be the same tone of black, it might also be fun to experiment with a different color to the image doesn't appear to be floating in space. Just a thought, of course, because it's your decision all the way.
Good luck in your future entries. I do look forward to seeing them and I hope this small critique is helpful to you.
