I don't get it. Why was this disqualified? It doesn't look altered. The light is absolutely stunning, so are the animals. This is an incredible photo. You should be proud of it. Forget ribbons, this is a winner in many ways.

I'm hoping to leave comments on as many photo's in this challenge as possible... out of (currently) 1124 images, I gave 31 of them a 9. Your image was one of those 31.

Lots of big cat photos in this challenge, but this one is so different to the others. Wonderful textures and fabulous lighting. The black background really makes the subject stand out, and the tonal range so limited yet so rich.

It's so hard to predict top 10, let alone ribbons with over 1000 images in the challenge, but as I gave out 16 x 10's and 31 x 9's, I'm predicting you will be in the top 50, but I'm hoping top 20 :-)

Good luck for a strong finish in this challenge.
