| I don't get it. Why was this disqualified? It doesn't look altered. The light is absolutely stunning, so are the animals. This is an incredible photo. You should be proud of it. Forget ribbons, this is a winner in many ways. |

I'm hoping to leave comments on as many photo's in this challenge as possible... out of (currently) 1124 images, I gave 31 of them a 9. Your image was one of those 31.
Lots of big cat photos in this challenge, but this one is so different to the others. Wonderful textures and fabulous lighting. The black background really makes the subject stand out, and the tonal range so limited yet so rich.
It's so hard to predict top 10, let alone ribbons with over 1000 images in the challenge, but as I gave out 16 x 10's and 31 x 9's, I'm predicting you will be in the top 50, but I'm hoping top 20 :-)
Good luck for a strong finish in this challenge. |

| I really like this shot, and did even more so when I thought it was a male + female. The title really through me for a loop. ;) I believe female lions look different than males anyway, so I probably shouldn't have been thinking that in the first place. Great shot regardless, perfect timing. |

| Second time around and bumping this up to a 10 - at first the softness of this image was what made me vote a 9 but on second thought, I think it may not have been as effective if this image was sharply focused. |

| Wonderful moment captured! I like the tight crop. Monochrome/dark postprocessing heightens the mood and focuses us on the shapes and form, which emphasizes their closeness. Excellent! |

Aslan himself would never have thought it possible, existing for most of his time as the champion and savior of Narnia. But even a savior eventually finds himself desiring companionship, and whence that companionship comes can often be from the most unlikely place imaginable.
So it was that Aslan found himself in a love unlooked for and unexpected. A love that transcended the world, the universe, and everything in it. A love that ended up lasting eternity, and all of Narnia was better for it. |
