Am I on the menu?by Naval_PhotographerComment: Completely agree with you Joe. Great facial expression on the lion and the branch does indeed distract, but again you shoot for you and not for anyone else :) Nice shot Joe. |

Just taking a restby Naval_PhotographerComment: Joe I really like this one! I think it is a really good shot. I agree with you that if the lion would have cooperated and looked at you it could be even more, but I think you did a nice job with the shot and from the post processing you did a nice job to tweak without going overboard and hurting the shot. Nice job and keep up the great work!

Dove: The Campain for Real Beaut....Huh?by gfiedComment: I love this shot. I am comment only because I just am not really a fan of voting in a challenge I have a shot in, but I really wanted to give a comment on this one. The expression is just plain priceless, and the hair is hilariously awesome. The only thing I see at all that catches my eye in a distracting way is the bottom of the shot. The crop falling where it does can be a bit uncomfortable as it seems to fall in the middle of the bra/sports bra. That being said if you go lower than this how much lower and where do you draw the line and blah blah blah. I think it is a fantastic shot and I really hope the voters agree. Anything less than first page would be a travesty in my humble opinion. |

Eye On The Jobby trevytrevComment: Fantastic capture. Very different than almost all of the other entries as well. Great focus, excellent color, and just a great capture. Wonderfully done. |

Silent Scornby wanjunComment: Very nice job on this. The moodiness of the lighting really works for me. The depth of field is fantastic and I love the choice of background. The bricks give it a street shot type of feel that just would never work as well with the moodiness of the look, the lighting, and the eyes if it were shot in a studio. Focus is right on the money as are the catch lights in both eyes. Fantastic shot. |

MESMERIZEDby meowComment: You have to love cat eyes. :-) Very nice capture. I like the framing as well. I will say that it takes a second to get oriented to the cat's positioning and that can be a bit distracting, but the color and use of what appears to be natural light in a moving animal that never seems to want to cooperate is just plain excellent. Well done. |

Relax... Reflect ... Releaseby HighNoonerComment: Wow, I bet this took lots of frames. I can't even imagine the set up and trial and error. So congrats there for sure. Not sure what the black stuff is on the bottom eyelid, but I have itched my eye now at least 4 or 5 time while writing this comment. :-) The only real thing I have as a concern is that the refection that is so key in drawing in the viewer also is a bit busy for my eye and I get lost in it and lose the beauty of the actual eye (because it is a very pretty eye). Great shot. |

Do I REALLY have to go to bed?by tpbremerComment: Haha :) Ok, instant pop factor with a nice tight shot like this, so great job there. Also a great job of setting the glasses just right to avoid tons of flash reflection. With a shot this close it is really difficult to keep from blowing things out all over the place and you did a great job keeping that under control. I also really like the choice on depth of field as you can see the pink just start to fade away giving a very pleasing texture to the image. I do think that the hair cutting into the eyes hurts the shot from a challenge point of view, but this picture is worth much more than that. Great shot that I am sure you will enjoy for years. |
