"It will all be over soon"by RamblinRComment: Great job with the blood, it looks very real and makes for a disturbing image. I like how the light frames the hand and draws the viewers attention to the...blood. Ow ow ow! |

apocalyptic vision by ursulaComment: You've done a great job capturing the light here. I wish the highlights on the water weren't blown out as much as they are, but overall the efect is moody and very effective. |

This is the END, beautiful friend. This is the END, my only friend, the END.by WindtaleComment: First of all, I love how the image looks like it is printed on nice, warmtone fiber-based paper. Great job with the post processing in that regard.
However, I don't like your setup. If you're going to show the self consuming destruction of drugs, the image should be dark, grimy, and moody in a way that would make Ian Curtis proud. Have your subject on a matress, illuminated only by the static glow of a black and white television. Garbage everywhere. Single exposure HDR with one layer being B&W and the other being primarily washed out yellow/red channels makes it look like the apocalypse. Your idea really has the potential to hit fast and hard, but currently it's just some guy in a well lit room, who is reasonably well dressed, shooting heroin.--7 |

"Deadly School Games" - Pencilby nutzitoComment: This is easily one of the best images I have seen on this site. It is fantastically creative. The composition is top notch, and your execution created an image that is loaded with symbolism and raw with emotion.
To those who were 'shocked and outraged':
We live in an age where children as young as 2 are being sent to see psychologists. Zoloft, Prozac and other 'selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor' (SSRI) drugs are consumed in greater quantities than Advil. Read 'A Brave New World' by Aldous Huxley. Here, I'll even post the link to amazon. //www.amazon.com/Brave-New-World-Aldous-Huxley/dp/0060929871
Don't get me wrong, children should not shoot heroin. But keep in mind that this is art. It is not meant to be taken as a prescription for the day to day life of first graders.

Rainbow Distortionsby banmornComment: Great idea, but the image is much too busy. If you had a larger ranbow strip that didn't repeat, you would still get a cool effect without the barrage of colors.
However, the distortion in the glass and on the water is mind blowing (in a good way). I imagine this is what an acid trip feels like :) |

Rainbow Regurgitation in Spaceby colorcarnivalComment: I like the idea but there really isnt anything to ground the image. I think a border would really help hold the image together--I find that my eyes are drifting away and there isnt anything to bring me back.
Likewise, i love how the leaf is B&W in a sea of color, but if you had put a little lower and to the right, it would fit better with the rule of thirds and anchor the image much better. |
