i like the pp here...really conveys a powerful message...that he has really hit the end of the road...nice job. 8

I'm not really feeling this, it's not the subject matter as I think that's more then fitting for the challenge, but it's lacking a mood that fits the subject. The noise goes some way but it could use either better lighting or black and white conversion, or a tighter composition to bring a bit more mood to the shot. Just my opinion of course

When I heard Jim sing it I was thinking of my friends who came back from Nam in a box... too many sides to that same sad story...

Nice and gritty.

How sad!!! Your processing for what you are conveying in this image is perfect!

First of all, I love how the image looks like it is printed on nice, warmtone fiber-based paper. Great job with the post processing in that regard.

However, I don't like your setup. If you're going to show the self consuming destruction of drugs, the image should be dark, grimy, and moody in a way that would make Ian Curtis proud. Have your subject on a matress, illuminated only by the static glow of a black and white television. Garbage everywhere. Single exposure HDR with one layer being B&W and the other being primarily washed out yellow/red channels makes it look like the apocalypse. Your idea really has the potential to hit fast and hard, but currently it's just some guy in a well lit room, who is reasonably well dressed, shooting heroin.--7

You are going to get DQed, I do believe. Courageous, though!

I can't wait to see the comments on this one :-) IMO, stark and powerful...
