Beautiful. Very simple, sublime way to meet this challenge. My once criticism is the lens flare in the lower left of the image and extending to just below the sun. Either clone that out or try your luck with the flare correction tool in PS.

The composition could use some work, but it's a 'point of color', and I give you props for capturing a welding torch. f/32 and 1/2000 would do the trick :)
