homegrown grapefruit... ahhh!by OldCoyoteComment: Works well against the blue but seems a little noisy. Painting with light over a long exposure would have given this an extra dimension and increased the difficulty/technical factor required to score near the top |

Cherubic Taylorby SpongetoastComment: A fairly reddish skin tone which could have been calmed down a bit during post processing. I'm guesing the flower head represents the yellow element - however its not the main subject and its not very yellow, at least not on my display |

"Victory" on the Windowsillby chawley8889Comment: I worry that others will deem to background blind to be irrelevant and a distraction - only slightly saved by your mentioning of it in the title. Just the model against a neural background to keep things simple would probably score higher |

Red Dropby cmarkus413Comment: A yellow drop might have been more appropriate. Manually setting the background for the white balancing would have taken away the general orangey hue leaving you with a lovely yellow patterns in the water. Having perfectly clean water for the shot to be submitted would have been better as it is tinted towards the bottom from previous attempts. The surface hoizontal is on a split level - again not ideal. A final sharpen after the resize would have been worth doing. |

Early Springby AnnComment: The background looks a touch red on my display and rather spoils the otherwise perfect shot. Might have been worth trying a landscape aspect ratio and using a large apature to get some DOF going on |

The future's bright!by NatashaComment: Excellent patterns made by the light almost becomes the primary subject as it is so powerful and so the yellow colouring has taken a more subtle backseat. Well done |

Breaking th eggby love32907Comment: A general yellow colour cast diminishes the impact of the yellow yolk. If the white balance had been set from the egg white then the yolk would have lovely contrast. Image is pretty small and is not using the full 640 |

Subconsciousby freakin_hilariousComment: Normally I would say that noise in this quantity is pretty undesirable and I am still close to continuing to agree with that, but this is almost pushed so far that it is almost a positive thing and adds to the image. I am sure there will be plenty of voters that disagree though. Well composed |

"All Aboard"by quicksnapsComment: Could have pushed the saturation of the yellow harder during postprocessing to really reinforce the image. Seems to have a bit of a blue cast, might have been worth setting the white balance manually off the top of the train (given its the subject) rather than the background. |
