 Had already submitted an abandoned building photo when I saw this juicy-looking grapefruit hanging on a tree that I planted in the backyard three years ago. (Crop of 18 this year. Twice last year's. And bigger!) Got intrigued with it as a "Yellow IV" subject, and unsubmitted my building to submit this image instead. (I know they say "never eat your props," but this homegrown effort was too yummy to pass up! Ruby Red... and sweeeeeet!) Anxious to see how it does in the judging, as I am struggling to recover from my recent brown ribbon award. Will keep trying!

Works well against the blue but seems a little noisy. Painting with light over a long exposure would have given this an extra dimension and increased the difficulty/technical factor required to score near the top

really nice colours (even though the blue could be even a tad darker).. I like how you shot it from below, with the water dripping down .. a really "fresh" shot!
