That floating cup in background draws me away from the main subject. Good composition with just a little of the man so as to support the main subject but not overpower it. Great expression of subject and good focus. I'd crop bottom almost at kids hand and crop some water off the right side and get the kids head off dead center in the photo. You might also "flip" the photo so the man is on the right side of the photo so when the eye comes in from the left of the photo it sees the kid first and the man last.

Good composition with subject NOT dead centered. I'd still crop a little at right... just seems to be too much tree. Background a little distracting with hot spots but good lighting on subject.
