Swooshby vencapComment: A nice idea, but the foot is a little too blurred to create the effect that you're looking for, I think. |

Slideby taterbugComment: I like the use of the blur here - it speaks to the essence of what is heppening when a guitarist is working their fret board hard.
And keeping the guitar sharp, with all the blur in the hand, makes the shot technically well executed.
now, if the blur had been limited to the fingers, with maybe some conspicuous speed blur on some of the strings, that would have been a masterpiece. |

'All Mine!!'by suemackComment: A lovely shot. The sense of "turbulence" around the wings is great.
My first reaction was that I would have cropped it more tightly. But on reflection I think youve got it right. The sparrow looking on has creates just the right sense of "oh, I wanted some of that!". |

KahBOOMby owenComment: I'm someone who's been known to go and sit by the rocks and watch the waves crash like this for hours. I think this shot captures the impact well.
I would have maybe tried to capture just a little more of the wave impact. Not moving it to the middle of the composition, obviously; but perhaps a little closer to the centre. And I'd have cropped more tightly - there's a lot of rock with not very much happening. You need a reasonable amount of rock to give the wave-crash some context, but there's a bit too much here.
But I do like the wave-crash. Just the right amount of blur. |

Nuns On The Runby ColeyComment: Well composed. But a bit contrived for my tastes. And the "blur" is just an incidental part of the composition. |

Light Speedby SherwinJamesComment: A simple but innovative idea, well executed.
As I'm looking at it on my screen, the image is covered in tiny rectangular blotches. I'm not sure if that's part of the image, or some artifact of my browser. But it is a little distracting.
If it was me, I'd have aimed for some more light and contrast on the candle.
I'd be interested to here how you composed the shot. |

Please tell me I don't have to read all this!!!by talikfComment: I think this is a great idea for a "blur" composition. With a little bit of work, the "great idea" could become a great photo. A few things I'd look to improve:
1. Framing: the 2 main elements of the photo - the book and the face - are both a little out of frame. I would have made sure that all of the book, at least, was in-frame.
2. Lighting: the lighting on the face is a little flat. I'd have tried to get a little more contrast happening on the face.
3. Focus: the crispest, best lit part of the composition is the shoulder; well away from what are (I assume) supposed to be the main elements - the face and the book. This draws my eye away from the main elements.
Don't get me wrong, it's a gresat idea, and there are some very good elements in the execution. The blur of the pages and the lighting on the book is well executed, and the expression on the face is just right. If you'd got a better result in the other areas that I mentioned, it would have been great. |
