Colors in Motionby sherpetComment: Wow. Love it! I've no idea what it is, but I love it.
Very rich, with a sense of detail just out of reach in the reflection in the globe. The blue and red circular blurs certainly impart a sense of speed. |

Passing Tonesby graphicfunkComment: I've no idea what this is, but it is very evocative of movement. Liquid, wind, ethereal.
I'd love to know how you did it. |

Nicky Hayden, winner of the Dutch TT MotoGP by AzrifelComment: Great. Love it.
This one captures just about the right amount of rotational blur in the wheels to complement the directional blur of the background.
It's a shot that's been done a million times before, of course. But this one is exceptionally well done, to my eye.
I wonder, though, whether the reds are maybe just a bit overcooked? I'd have to see it with the reds toned down a little to decide... |

Around the Bendby CutterComment: I think there's a great idea lurking here, and you very nearly carried it off.
Both tail-light trails and running water have been done to death, of course; but bringing them together like this has a lot of promise. If we had seen the full sweep of the tail-light trail, all the way from from bottom-left, this shot would have been right up there. Particularly given the very competent "fast water, slow exposure" treatment in the upper-right two-thirds of the shot.
Great idea - very close. |

Windyby electinaComment: A good concept. But the hair needs to be speed-blurred, rather than just out of focus, to carry it off. Some more lighting on the face would've helped too, I think. |

Dotting i'sby Little KingComment: A nice shot. I would have chosen a different angle to photo the car, to get better lighting - with all the light falling on the far side of the car, the image looks quite flat. I think I'd have cropped it a little tighter as well - still kep the strong horizontal line elements, but tightened it up just a little. |

Boy and Water in Constant Motionby jencurrieComment: This is a beautiful shot of the waterfall, the curving flow of the water is quite hypnotic. I think that having the boy in motion detracts from it quite markedly, though. If he'd been static, it would have been a winner, in my mind. |

Man on Manby NobodyComment: There's a good concept in here, trying to get out. I don't think this really carries it off, though. There's just too much movement.
Maybe having the subjects hold a tableau for the first part of the exposure; then move, but leave their feet in place. There are lots of things you could try - there's a great photo in there somewhere! |

In a Well Balanced Worldby DjabordjaborComment: A lovely shot - very spiritual. All the elements come together nicely, although I would have cropped it a little differently:
1. I'd have got rid of at least half of the sky. It definitely enhances the mood and is essential to the overall effect, but there's just too much of it.
2. I think I'd have cropped more tightly on the right, and have given the blurred running suject some more space to run into on the left. (I would need to try it to know if this would really have improved things, though.)
But still a lovely shot. |
