Lost Againby jpfrandanoComment: Aside from DNMC, I've only got a couple quibbles on this shot. Composition is nice, although the angle makes it look as if the bar is growing out of her nose. There's not much here to keep my attention, either, although I don't count that as much since the challenge was so tough. |

chromosomal resistanceby TTDPCCPhotoComment: I have no idea what this picture is, and see nothing in it that suggests a game or sports. As an abstract, I like the composition, although I think a bit more contrast would help the picture "pop" more. |

Post-Game Band Abductionby elizadebComment: Technically, this is an OK shot (lighting/contrast/focus good), but it still leaves me a bit flat, if you'll pardon the pun :-) Having all the instruments makes the scene a bit busy, and there's not anything to really hold my attention, despite the pop of the contrast. Of course, having played in the band myself, I know that the people haven't gone home without their instruments, so this barely meets challenge ;-) |

Good Gameby balancedfoxComment: Not a bad shot, even though having the players in it means it doesn't meet the challenge. There is a real sense of place/time in this for me, and the candidness of the subjects fits nicely. The people in the background don't quite fit in the composition for me. I would have been tempted to move the camera to the left to see if I could clean up the background. In PP, I think I would have gone for a bit more contrast (cloudy sky that day?) |

Ode to Keg Cupsby ShmeeComment: For me, there isn't anything in this shot that says "game" or "sporting venue". The cups in the street could just as easily be outside a frat house. Compositionally, I like the way everything lines up, although I would have been tempted to remove the box and the bit of cup in the upper left, as I find them distracting. Processing on this must have been touch, since the cups are so saturated (over, in some spots) and the rest is so bland. |

over already?by carlosComment: The lines in the grate and in the seats conflict and become distracting to me. I'd like to see more contrast between the silhouette and the underside of the seats, since it is hard to distinguish between the two. I can't quite decide whether the person DNMC or not, since there's no one visible in the venue itself. |

After it's all said & done by ace flymanComment: Overall, I'm not really bowled over by this, although due to the tough challenge, I'm trying to overlook that. The high contrast really makes this image pop and gives a nice first impression. After that, though, my eye has a hard time figuring out what to look at since the whole image is essentially diagonal lines. For this challenge, quite nice, but it leaves me feeling a bit flat. |

Gone Fishingby jimikaComment: I love this shot! When I first looked at it, I got the impression of a quiet day, perfect weather, etc., but the I noticed the two people by the water, and the scale hit me like a ton of bricks. The lines work well, pulling my eye all around the water and then back to where I discovered the people. I particularly like the sunlight and distance haze on the hills in the distance. The image just screams "quiet isolation" to me. |
