Thkx everybody for voting,

I finished last one but not least !

theme explanation
My little chromosome after the game of life has survived... The human evolution can take place and perhaps war will not be an answer anymore for human being ! Ok it was maybe a little far away from a classic theme approach, I should have make him running with a baseball glove !

Thks again, and see you to the next challenge ;)

PS : For Senor_Kasper, the thigh thing is... Some proteins doing some DNA fixing jobs in order to restore the DNA before replication. And, on the left of the photo, you can see a DNA fragment combing on the surface...
Nature is so beautifull

PS2 : "Petit à petit on devient moins petit..."

Could be part of the traditional attire for the sport? Much like the diapers Sumo Wrestlers wear?

I get it now; this is a new french sport called 'the battle of the chromosomes'. The guy we are looking at is the losing dead chromosome, left alone in the rink next to the blood puddle, everybody else already left the venue. Chromosomes, we now know, remain in the standing position upon death. The only piece of the mystery yet to be solved pertains to the nature of that thing wrapped around the dead guy's right (left?) thigh; I can't wait to read opinions about it.

I'm trying to make the connection to the challenge, but I'm still confused. Interesting shadows, I think that more DOF to include the whole main whatever subject would help.

Okaaaayyyy...you're thinking out of the box. Too far IMO. I don't get the connection to the challenge, and this being a visual medium your vision is not communicating to me. Sorry, but DNMC to me at this time. If I should 'get it' i'll come back and adjust my vote.

Hmmm, were these chromosomes resisting sports events? Or sports venues? Who knows. Nice still life study in any case.

I have no idea what this picture is, and see nothing in it that suggests a game or sports. As an abstract, I like the composition, although I think a bit more contrast would help the picture "pop" more.

How does this have anything to do with after the game? And what am I looking at?

As a study in shallow DOF it has some merit, but I'm really struggling to pull the essence of a sporting venue from the middle of this shot. Maybe there's some wild abstract link that binds everything together, something like the force does in Star Wars.

Interesting composition as an abstract. Not sure how this relates to the challenge, though. Was this meant for bokeh?

10/25/2006 07:11:19 AM
Uh-oh. A little underexposed, subject is going to be lost on many, and the DOF isn't quite right for this. Sorry, wish I could say something nicer. Best of luck with the fly tying...hope you catch something with it when you're done. :D

I'm sorry, I just can't figure out how this meets the challenge, so it gets tagged as DNMC.

Details: Your challenge this week is deceptively simple: photograph a sporting venue after the game is over and the players and people have gone home :-)
